Daily Update
Posted on June 11th, 2008 No commentsSorry I’m not doing these… well… daily!
I’m learning quickly that rotator cuff injuries are the devil devil devil. These things take a long time to heal. I’ve been working it a bit too hard the past couple of days and I’m going to give the elliptical trainer a break I think. It just feels sore and worked. It doesn’t feel anything like it did when I injured it.
Sadly, golf is out of the question for a while. I really thought I’d be back into it soon but it can be particularly hard on the RC. I’d rather take time off to get things fixed than risk prolonging this annoying condition.
So my plan for now is to run on a treadmill or *gasp* run on a real road. I got some new trainers so they should help. I’ll try to find out whether or not the elliptical is helping, hurting or whatnot.
It’s 3 weeks into this and I know it can take a solid month and a half or more to heal. This is worse than when I broke my big toe in TWO places.

I hate my toes
Posted on February 11th, 2008 No commentsThe way my toenails grow (big toe) makes them highly prone to be ingrown. That is the case right now as I try to nurse a toe back to health. This after my own self surgical procedures of trying to remove the ingrown part. I’ve done this with much success over the past 20 or so years actually. It’s not recommended to do it but I get these probably twice a year.
Just forget the fact that I have actually broken the pinky toe, the index toe and big toe all on my right foot. Not all at the same time, thankfully. The nail fell off of the index toe after that incident. Sorry pinky, couldn’t do anything for that one. The big toe required a nurse to wrap it in gauze and charge us 600 dollars. 600 dollars, what, you couldn’t do anything while you were at it?!
I just recently repaired my left big toe from an ingrown state but at the cost of the actual right side of the toenail. It’ll never grow again I’m sure but you know what? It’ll never get ingrown if it doesn’t grow! HAHA IN YOUR FACE TOE! Ahem. I’ve seriously contemplated getting both big toe nails removed to keep this from happening. Sounds painful though… but modern meds should help with that.
After this one heals I’ll think on it. If this one persists… OFF WITH THE TOENAIL!
