Day 9
Posted on May 28th, 2008 No commentsMuch better day today. Went to the doctor and the rotator cuff appears to be sprained/strained ( I can’t remember exactly what he said ). I made sure that he knew I wasn’t seeing him for ILLNESS today. At any rate he ran a battery of simple tests on me regarding moving my arm around. I had some mild pain here and there which indicated to him it wasn’t “serious”. He recommended I keep the arm moving but not to put stress on it, i.e. lift weights.
The irony is I got into this position by exercising!
Well eating wasn’t the best early in the day but I straightened up by days end. The visit to the doc helped give me a good bit of piece of mind. My mind tends to wander and I end up imagining myself going in for extensive shoulder surgery. Which additional treatment isn’t entirely ruled out but he says 90% of these things can clear up on their own over time with rest and care.
I hope to get back to golfing in a couple of weeks!

Counting down to the new year; new us
Posted on December 27th, 2007 No commentsI don’t have a new years resolution. I have a plan. The plan, at the moment, is to make a plan! Resolutions usually fall short because you say “I want to make more money”, “I want to get skinny”. What makes a resolution fail is lack of planning on how you’ll get there in the first place.
You don’t get into shape by one thing alone. An hour at the gym is undone by just one over indulgent meal. Eating the perfect foods will usually result in weight loss but without strength and cardio training you’re liable to just look ‘thin’. To each their own. Movie stars and models bust their asses. We all hate them but 9 times out of 10 they worked for it. Airbrushed magazine photos don’t count!
Same with money. How do you make more money? Get a better job! Simple! … no
You might need education or skills for the job. Maybe you need to work up the ladder at your current job. Again, most people that make a lot of money EARN IT.
I’m already comfortable with my income (as well as our combined income). It’s maximizing it’s potential that I’m after. Same with my health. Overall I’m fairly healthy. I am overweight though and I’m out to fix that.
So for new years, I don’t want resolutions. I want results.
